As noted by Marco Mendicino, federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, in a report to Parliament, this was the “highest number of permanent residents since 1913”.

Affecting over 100-thousand patients and causing over 4-thousand deaths in 100 days, its geographic spread has reached all regions of the U.N. health agency, six continents and 114 countries. Indeed, COVID-19 is very contagious and rapidly transmissible from patient-to-patient, and has exacted a heavy toll on human lives.
