February 16, 2023 - While celebrating Valentine’s Month this year, I was reminded by a friend who is always in love “that love is the most powerful energy in the universe.”
It’s been four years since we said goodbye.
You went abroad to take care of two kids as old as Kuya and I.
I counted the days, weeks, months, and years.
Each passing time, my longing for you swelled through my tears.
Romantics say love is a yearning for someone, an insatiable longing to care. Intellectuals explain it as a function of the brain, the master of all emotions. And while poets and songwriters wax lyrical about this “most wondrous feeling of all,” love story movies take at least two hours to show that love is truly “a many splendored thing.”
“Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match!” So goes a line from the musical Fiddler on the Roof’s iconic “Matchmaker” song. And doing just that is what matchmaker, relationship expert and dating coach Carmelia Ray has been doing for close to three decades.
One of my fondest early childhood memories is when we got our cats, Andy and Ben, in November of 2004.
It has been said that the brain is a most outstanding organ. (It manages most of your bodies' activities and processes information received from both outside and inside the body and is the very seat of our emotions and cognitive abilities, including thought, long- and short-term memory, and decision-making.)
