The Filipino Canadian Art Museum is all set for their first project -- a virtual Filipino art gallery and history museum celebrating Filipino heritage in Canada.
The exhibition "Strong and Beautiful: Cultural Treasures from the Philippines" presents a collection of traditional Filipino clothing, jewelry made of gold and pearls, and items made of rattan and bamboo.
These collectible items are considered to be memorable pieces that make Canadian Filipinos stay connected to their heritage.

Filipino Heritage Month is celebrated in Canada in June.
The virtual art gallery also features the works of Canadian Filipino artists Charlie Frenal based in Kelowna, B.C., and Ovvian Castrillo Hill from Fort St. John, BC.

Through a series of video clips and still photos, the exhibition, which was originally displayed at the Kamloops Museum & Archives from September 20-October 25, 2019, will be shared with the public for free, and will premiere on the Filipino Canadian Art Museum Facebook page, YouTube channel and Instagram on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 6 p.m.
The project is led by Mona Lavina, a Canadian Filipino multicultural arts curator and educator.
