A diverse group of talented musicians will band together at a fundraising concert on March 4, in support of Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG), a local charity that serves as a hub for volunteering and giving.
Organized by volunteers from the Greater Vancouver Filipino community, the concert, dubbed “Band2Gether4RCRG” will feature performances by the following bands: Jim’s Underground, Five for the Road, and BC AkaFellas.
The renowned church choir, the Our Lady of Good Counsel Family Choir, will sing gospel music, and MLA for Vancouver-Kensington Mable Elmore will join the bands onstage.
“The beneficiary, RCRG, is a registered charity that works to promote, encourage, and facilitate local philanthropy – both volunteerism and monetary donations. In addition to being a hub for volunteering and giving, RCRG is a direct service provider, operating a Child Care Resource & Referral Centre, the Richmond Christmas Fund, and a variety of seniors community support services,” Jocelyn Wong, RCRG general manager said.
Band2Gether4RCRG will be held at Fraserview Church on Mellis Drive, Richmond, B.C., from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets are priced at $15 each, and can be purchased on Eventbrite.ca or by calling (604) 279-7020.
Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie will be in attendance, while a crowd of over 500 is expected.
The event also features an art exhibit mounted by the British Columbia-based Dimasalang III International Artist Group, which dedicates itself to promoting awareness of contemporary arts and culture in the community.
Dimasalang will donate paintings as raffle prizes. Raffle proceeds will go to RCRG.
