February 16, 2023  - The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver will be hosting a conference on February 26 for Filipino international students at the MOSAIC Headquarters on Boundary Road in Vancouver.

The conference “Navigating Resources Towards Enhancing Student Experience” will offer important resources for international students such as settlement services, information on legal obligations, rights and immigration regulations and consular services.

Recognizing the increase in international students coming from the Philippines to Canada, consul general Maria Andrelita Austria notes in a letter to media: “While the opportunity to study and live here has undoubtedly led to tremendous opportunities for Filipinos, not to mention the economic and social benefits they bring to Canada, it has also created challenges understandably faced by newcomers abroad.”

The conference is a joint project of the consulate and FilNet, a network of Filipino social services professionals and is supported by MOSAIC, the Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) and Western Community College (WCC).
