The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver is hosting its annual Maligayang Pasko, Vancouver! on December 17 at the St. Patricks’ Parish Recreation Centre at 2881 Main Street starting at 9am.
The event promises to give attendees a taste of what it is like to experience Christmas in the Philippines with activities like caroling, parol-making (Christmas lanterns), story-telling for children, pabitin (a Filipino game involving a rack hung overhead for children to grab gift items from) and shopping with products from Canadian Filipino businesses within the Greater Vancouver area.
The day will be capped by a Filipino community mass to be held at the St. Patrick’s parish church at 4:30pm.
