The first work to be shown is Maranan’s short film Hail Marie. It highlights changing identities as they  negotiate  two cultures while trying to maintain harmonious family relations.

Following this is Kent Donguines’ documentary Canadian Adobo. This work captures the emotional struggles of Filipino families reunited in Canada after years of separation and the challenge of readjusting to each other amidst the social pressures surrounding them as individuals and as family units.

These film screenings are also being undertaken as part of the common cultural project by the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Ottawa, Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver to celebrate Filipino heritage and highlight Filipino filmmaking art and sensibilities.
