February 1, 2024 — Canada and the Philippines are marking in 2024 the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

To mark this milestone, the Canadian embassy in the Philippines unveiled on January 24 a logo to commemorate the occasion.

“What better way to kick-off this milestone year than to present to you our 75th anniversary visual identity design that seeks to capture our countries' enduring bonds,” the embassy posted on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

In two following tweets, the diplomatic mission explained the design of the image:

“The design features a maple leaf overlaid with a silhouette of a sun and three stars.  The color palette draws inspiration from the flags of both countries – leveraging each country’s historical, cultural, and political significance for easy recognition and recall.

“The gradient of Canada’s red, the Philippines’ yellow and blue symbolize movement and progression, conveying the anticipation of more successful years ahead in the relationship between our two countries.”
